Jews Don’t Count: A Times Book of the Year 2021

* It’s worth saying early on in this book that some of this may not speak to Jews of colour. I accept this, and indeed, apologise for it. My argument rests on how progressives view Jews in contrast to how they view other minorities, and Jews of colour – indeed, any Jew who is also a member of another minority – may not experience this discrepancy in exactly the same way. I particularly accept that my point about the not-quite-whiteness of Jews in general may have no resonance for those Jews who are clearly non-white. And who sometimes, for that very reason, have to suffer discrimination against them from other Jews. There is another book to be written — not by me — about that experience.
